It started on a quiet night by the water in a small town.
We were out walking with a friend and his beloved dog, enjoying the evening like anyone else would. But not everyone saw it that way. A nearby resident took offense—decided we didn’t belong—and called the police.
When the officer arrived, she didn’t ask questions. She looked down at us and said: “Those People are trespassing on our property, and I want them removed.”
Spoiler alert: we weren’t trespassing. And the officer eventually told us to carry on. But that moment stuck with us. Those People. The way it was said. The judgment. The separation.
That was the night the Those People brand was born.
